RCW40 (also catalogued as GUM 25) is an HII star forming nebula in the Southern Hemisphere near the Vela region. It is a fairly small emission nebula in Vela, surrounding a short chain of 10th and 11th magnitude stars. It is relatively bright and easy to observe despite the surrounding dust clouds in the region. As with many objects in the Southern skies, there is not much information posted concerning this object.
