      NGC 3293

      NGC 3293 is an open cluster in the constellation Carina. The cluster was discovered by Nicolas Louis Lacaille in 1751.

      The cluster consists of more than 100 stars brighter than apparent magnitude 14 and occupies an area in the sky about 10 arc minutes in size. The brightest stars are blue supergiants with apparent magnitudes 6.5 and 6.7. The cluster also owns a 7th magnitude pulsating red supergiant, V361 Carina.
