NGC 3324 is an open cluster in the constellation of Carina lying at a distance of about 9100 light years from Earth. The nebula present in this region is IC2599 (Gum31). This nebula has been nicknamed the Gabriela Mistral Nebula due to its resemblance to eh Nobel Prize winning Chilean poet.
