NGC 6334 (also known as the Cat's Paw Nebula and Gum 64) is one of the closest star-forming regions belonging to the Sagittarius Arm of the Milky Way and visible in the constellation of Scorpius. It was discovered in 1837 by astronomer John Herschel during his observations at the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa
