NGC 6723 (top left) is a globular cluster that lies slightly north of the border with Corona Australis and is around 28,400 light years away from Earth.
Almost 360,000 times more massive than the sun, this loosely packed cluster formed from low metallicity gas with an Iron/Hydrogen ratio that is about ten times smaller than that in the Sun.
