Helix Nebula, aka The Eye of God
RGBHOO-image of the Helix Nebula, captured with the Planewave CDK24 telescope and FLI PL9000 camera (CHI-1).
The Helix Nebula, NGC 7293, lies about 650 light-years away in the constellation of Aquarius. It is one of the closest and most spectacular examples of a planetary nebula.
The nebula's striking appearance earned it the nickname the Eye of God.
Acquisition:
3x600 second exposures in Ha and OIII
4x300 second exposures with R, G and B
Total Exposure: 2 hours
Processing with AstroPixelProcessor and Photoshop CC with AstroPanel 4.2 & Franzis Denoise Projects 3 plug-ins.
