NGC 2170 is a beautiful reflection nebula located in the constellation Monoceros, approximately 2,400 light-years from Earth. It is part of a complex region containing reflection, emission, and dark nebulae, along with embedded young stars. The nebula reflects the light of nearby hot stars, producing a bluish glow, while surrounding dust and gas contribute rich textures and contrasting colors. NGC 2170 is an active star-forming region and serves as an excellent example of the interplay between light and interstellar material in the early stages of stellar development.
