NGC 3576, also known as the Statue of Liberty Nebula, is a bright emission nebula located in the constellation Carina, approximately 9,000 light-years from Earth. It is part of a large H II region rich in ionized hydrogen, shaped by powerful stellar winds and radiation from young, massive stars. The nebula features intricate structures, including dark dust pillars and glowing gas filaments, indicative of active star formation. NGC 3576 is a prominent target in the southern sky and an important site for studying the life cycle of massive stars.
