Eagle Nebula in the Hubble Palette (SHO)

I just finished processing the incredible Eagle Nebula (M16) 🦅✨

This is a star-forming region about 7,000 light-years away in the constellation Serpens, and it's home to the Pillars of Creation — made famous by the Hubble Space Telescope. I wanted to honor that image by processing the data in the Hubble Palette (using SII, Ha, and OIII narrowband filters), showing this cosmic nursery in all its glowing detail.

This dataset contains detailed close-up images from Chile (CHI-1) using a Planewave CDK24 telescope with >10 hours of SHO data. I stacked and processed the images myself using PixInsight and Photoshop, with tools like RC Astro’s BlurXTerminator and NoiseXTerminator to bring out every bit of fine detail while keeping it clean and sharp.

This was a true labor of love – and I hope it inspires you if you’re just getting into astrophotography. The universe is full of wonders like this!
